It is a presentation contest where researchers present their work in front of a non-expert audience.

The focus is on making research interesting, engaging, entertaining and thrilling to the audience.

This will give researchers based in Japan the chance to showcase their work and talent for giving a lively and interesting presentation.

Each presentation will be performed in English in less than 10 minutes and can be supported by video, audio material, slides or any other kind of media, as well as by scientific equipment, everything is allowed!

Huge thanks to our five Slammers who did their best and all performed extremely well!
The audience had a tough time ranking them, but eventually the winner this year is Mr Muhammad FAJAR, from Tokyo Institute of Technology! Congratulations to him! We'll hear more from him after the trip to a EUropean Research Institution he won at the Slam, next June!

What's the EURAXESS Science Slam Japan 2015?

It is a science communication contest where researchers present their work in front of a non-expert audience.

The focus is on making research interesting, engaging, entertaining and thrilling for the audience.

~ Slams are live presentations of each participant's research project, in English and in 10 minutes.
~ At the EURAXESS Science Slam, everything is allowed!
Slams can be supported by video, audio material, slides or any other kind of media, as well as by scientific equipment.

~ YOU will judge the participants and select the best Slammer; who wins a trip to Europe!
~ By debating with other attendees, YOU also improve your communication skills!

~ Register NOW, enjoy the Slam, participate to the debates, experience an evening of fun with colleagues and fellow researchers and enjoy fine food and drinks!

How to participate?

Create a 3-minute maximum video on your past or present research subject. Be creative and entertaining!

We do not look at your video edition skills or at the video quality but at your competence in communication and at your enthusiasm!

with your detailed info:

- Title of your Slam,

- Full name,

- Affiliation in Japan,

- Department / division,

- Position (or stage of studies),

- Statement "I read and accepted the terms and conditions for participation to the EURAXESS Science Slam Japan 2015" (available here)

with [SCIENCE SLAM 2015 VIDEO SUBMISSION] as e-mail subject.

Wait for the pre-selection process to end (end of September 2015).

If you are selected: congratulations!

You will be one of the 5 to 8 researchers invited to the live finals in Tokyo (Tokyo Metropolitan University) on 23 October 2015 and have a chance to win the trip to Europe!

Your video may also be uploaded on the EURAXESS Links Japan Youtube channel!
